We are SOMA Builders, a nonprofit founded by young girls for girls, dedicated
to empowering young women through learning and leading construction projects. The SOMA BuildHers team is led by teen girls and partners with
local contractor, Amy Straub, to build community projects, lead woodworking
workshops for women and kids, and learn the art and business of construction.
Our team has worked closely with a local non-profit called Isaiah House. We have installed numerous closets within their transitional housing facilities and are collaborating to build and supply chests for families to store their belongings.
As of 2024, only 12% of constructors inn the United States are women. The SOMA BuildHers team is committed to providing women with the necessities they need to thrive not only in the construction industry but in all facets of life.
